A super nova s when a huge star explodes. It usually happens when its nuclear fusion cannot hold the core against its own gravity. The core collapses, and explodes.

HEYA FRIEND ! ,
I CAN MAKE U UNDERSTAND WHAT IS SUPER NOVA ?!!!

A super nova is the last stage of evolution of a star. There are other forms in last stages other than super novas. There are :- the black holes, the white dwarfs, the brown dwarfs etc..and one of them is the Super nova . This super nova occurs mainly in stars like and bigger than our sun . because of the huge gravity, the stars may collapse by itself but the pressure inside it pushes it outwards and thus helps in retaining it's ball shape. this pressure is formed by the helium and hydrogen inside the core of the star. When one of the component (idk if it is hydrogen or helium), runs out , then the star starts to bulge outwards and the gravity becomes immense . when the point of massive size is reached, the star explodes. this produces the effect which we call as supernova. It sometimes may also form black holes instead of Supernovas.the supernovas can push apart the surrounding planets ( if any) and can extend to thousands of kilometers . During this process , it sends out ultra violet radiations which can be detected by space telescopes, and hence we come to know about them .
