Answer:-
Suspension culture:
A suspension culture consists of cells and cell aggregates dispersed and growing in a moving liquid medium. During incubation, the amount of cell material increases for a limited period of time until the culture reaches a point of maximum yield of cell material.
Advantages:
- The nutrients can be continually adjustable.
- This system can be scaled for large scale production of the cells.
- A whole plant can be regenerated from the single plant cell.
Disadvantages:-
- The productivity of suspension cultures can be decreased over extended subculture periods.
- slow growth and low productivity of plant cells.
- Cells may get damaged by shear conditions.
