Development which takes place without compromising the needs of today and also by saving resources for future is called sustainable development.It is a concept to overcome the problem of over utilisation of resources.

(the type of development that means that the need of present generation without compromising the ability of future gen. to meet their own needs.) - this means that development should take place without damaging the environment and development in the present should not compromise with the need of future gen.
