A minute gap between two nerve cells which impulses pass by diffusion. It passes signals from one neuron to another.

Synapse is a microscopic gap between two adjacent neurons.

The information acquired at the end of dendritic tip of a neuron sets off a chemical reaction which creates a electrical impulse. This impulse travels from the dendrite to the cyton along the axon to its end. At the end of axon, the electrical impulse sets off to release some chemicals. These chemicals cross the gap and start a similar electrical impulse in the dendrite of the next neuron.

Hope this helps you!!!
