Synapse:-

These are the small gaps between two ends of neurons in which a chemical is filled which converts electrical signal to chemical signal and then again to electrical signal to other neuron.

The gap in the synapses is called synaptic cleft.

An electric impulse is a short, transient voltage difference (potential difference) created across the membrane of neuron due to movement of ions through voltage-gated channel.

Hence, the impulse can move directly from one neuron to another across the synapse.
