WYSIWYG ( wiz-ee-wig) is an acronym for "what you see is what you get". In computing, a WYSIWYG editor is a system in which content (text and graphics) can be edited in a form closely resembling its appearance when printed or displayed as a finished product, such as a printed document, web page, or slide presentation.

WYSIWYG means "What you see is what you get".

The name suggests that the content appears as it would when it's live.

The first WYSIWYG editor was Web Magic.

Following are the best WYSIWYG HTML editors I recommend :

1. Atom.io

2. Adobe Dreamweaver

3.NicEdit

Hope this helps!

Answer:

The area where we write/type the text is the text area.

Writer is called a WYSIWYG Program because it is one that shows the document on screen, exactly the way it will when you print it.
