Propyne when reacts with excess amount of chlorine gas results in the formation of  2- Chloro propene (C3H3Cl) and hydrochloric acid. (HCl)

C3H4 + 2Cl2         →        C3H3Cl  + HCl (Hydrochloric acid)

propyne   chlorine        2 - Chloro propene

                 gas

Propyne when reacts with Hydrohen - iodide (HI) results in the formation of  2-iodopropene (C3H3I)

C3H4      + HI                        →   C3H3I

Propyne    Hydrogen Iodide       2 - iodopropene
