Answer:
Explanation:
Some adaptive features of forest plants are :-
- The plants or trees form canopies which provides protection from strong winds and storms, while also intercepting sunlight and precipitation.
- Many forests have evergreen trees that shed their leaves throughout the year.(rainforests are evergreen forests)
- Plants growing on the forest floor (understorey) are adapted to lower Sunlight intensity or are shade loving. This is because, the dense canopy does not allow enough light to penetrate through and reach the forest floor.
- Drip tips and waxy surfaces allow water to run off, to discourage growth of bacteria and fungi.
- Some plants climb on other plants or grow on them(also called Epiphytes) to reach the sunlight.
- Many forests have deciduous trees whose leaves donot shed themselves during winter.
