This poem was written by Shakespeare who wants to tell all the human beings on Earth that building monuments and statue is a worthless task it doesn't bring immortality to the person rather than it , they suffer the ravages of time.. with this poem he also wants to draw attention to the fact that time is important in our life and also does not wait for anyone...I think it'ss enough .
