Aim of the journey in poem “Crossing the Bar”:
In the poem 'Crossing the Bar', the poet described about his acceptance to death and gave the example of the sand bar to describe the journey from life to death.
A sandbar is built up of sand and can be destroyed merely by a wave clash while on the other hand, waves have to clash with the sandbar in order to reach back the ocean. The poet does not want his near and dear ones to cry after he dies. They should not be sad on his death.
