POLITICAL
He wanted to restore Germany as a powerhouse. Hated Weimar Republic's "weaknesses of debate and democracy". He felt a strong nation needed total loyalty to one leader - the Fuhrer. He wanted to abolish the Treaty of Versailles, he wanted 'Lebensraum' - a quest for more living space for Germans, at the expense of much-hated Poland and Russia (USSR).
SOCIAL
He believed in 'social darwinism' - a hierarchy of classes. He put the 'master Aryan race' at the top (German, tall, blonde, blue-eyed) and the Slavs, Jews, gypsies, blacks and homosexuals at the bottom. Also socially, he wanted to create a 'Volkgemeinschaft' (People's Community), where all people placed their priority to each other and Germany, not themselves and their own families.
PERSONALLY
Wanted all power in Germany. Power-hungry. Wanted to get revenge on Slavs, Jews, Weimar, the Allies etc. Felt this was his destiny.
ECONOMICALLY
He wanted to rid Germany of unemployment (by 1932 - 6 million unemployed which was 30% of the workforce; 40% of factory workers out of a job; 60% graduates couldn't find jobs; by 1929, farmers were earning less than half the national average). He also wanted to put people into work by rearmament schemes, putting people into the army, navy and airforce to make Germany ready for war. The aim of economic recovery (shining through the 'New Plan' and, later, the 'Four Year Plan') was to make Germany self-sufficient (each plan greatly limited imports to stimulate domestic industries), so that in times of war, a naval blockade wouldn't have an impact on Germany, as it did in 1918, causing the downfall of Germany in the First World War
