number of images formed =5

then,

no. of image formed = 360/angle between mirror

theta = 360/5

=72degree

svlaxmib: Wrong ans . And:-n=360/theta-1=360/5+1=6 . 360/6=60
svlaxmib: The angle is 60degrees

Given:

  • There are five images.

To Find:

  • The angle between the two plane mirrors.

Solution:

The formula to find the angle between the two plane mirrors is given by,

n = (360/θ)-1 → {equation 1}

Where "n" is the number of images formed, "θ" is the angle between the two plane mirrors.

On substituting the given values in equation 1 we get,

⇒ 5 = (360/θ) - 1

On shifting "1" to the LHS and adding the same we get,

⇒ 360/θ = 6

Rearranged the above equation in terms of "θ"

⇒ θ = 360/6 = 60° {dividing the terms}

∴ The angle between the two planes = 60°.
