Let the present age of you be X.

After 12 years,

Your age(X+12) will be 3 times as old as he was 4 years ago[3(X-4)]

i.e.

X+12=3(X-4)

X+12=3X-12

2X=24

X=12.

Hence, present age is 12.

Hope it helped ☺️
