mean=sum of all obsn/ no of obsn
=(48000+10000+13300+10200+12800+9500)/6
=17,300
Median is the middle most value
since there are 6 terms the median would the average of 3rd and 4th term
I.e., (13300+10200)/2=11750

Here is your answer:

$Mean= \frac{Sum\ of\ all\ salaries}{Total\ Number\ of\ people}$

Sum of salaries = 48000 + 10000 + 13300 + 10200 + 12800 + 9500

                          = Rs .103800

Total number of people = 6.

Then,

$Mean = \frac{103800}{6} = 17300$

Now we must arrange all the  salaries in increasing order.

Then, The order is

9500 , 10000 , 10200 , 12800 , 13300 , 48000.

Therefore Median is Average of middle two terms ( Because Total number of salaries in even number that is 6.)

$Median = \frac{10200+12800}{2} = \frac{13000}{2} = 6500$
