Afforestation and reforestation
Explanation:
Deforestation is the permanent removal of trees to make room for something besides forest. Unauthorized felling of trees for timber, trade and firewood leads to deforestation. Animals lose their habitat and many species become vulnerable to poaching and extinction. The establishment of such biosphere reserves, wildlife sanctuaries and nature parks helps conserve forest cover and thus protect animals and birds. Deforestation can only be countered by afforestation and reforestation.

Deforestation is defined as the cutting down or clearing of trees from a wooded area. If trees are removed, the area can become much warmer and drier, which may result in desertification, which is a transformation of once fertile land into desert.
