<b>HERE IS YOUR ANSWER :-

Let Points A ( 3 , 5 ) & B ( -4 , - 8 )

Here
x1 = 3
x2 = - 4
y1 = 5
y2 = - 8

By the distance formula

ab =  \sqrt{ {(x2 - x1)}^{2} +  {(y2 - y1)}^{2}  }  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{ {( - 4 - 3)}^{2}  +  {( - 8 - 5)}^{2} }  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{ { - 7}^{2} +  { - 13}^{2}  }  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{49 + 169}  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{218}

so the distance is √218 units.

Let the coordinates is O = (3 , 5) and P = (-4 , -8)
Now here is
x1 = 3 ,
y1 = 5

x2 = -4 ,
y2 = -8

AS WE KNOW THE FORMULA:-

Distance between two points O and P
 = \sqrt{(x2 - x1) {}^{2} + (y2 - y1) {}^{2} } \\ = \sqrt{( - 4 - 3) {}^{2} + ( - 8 - 5) {}^{2} } \\ = \sqrt{( - 7) {}^{2} + ( - 13) {}^{2} } \\ = \sqrt{49 + 169} \\ = \sqrt{218} \\ = 14.76
