perimeter = 2 (length + breadth)

90 = 2 [(3x + 1) + (2x - 1)]

90 = 2 (5x)

90 = 10x

so, therefore x cm = 9 cm

area of the rectangle = length × breadth

                                   = (3 × 9 + 1) × (2 × 9 - 1)

                                   = 476 cm^2
