Answer:

5π - 11.6  ft²

Step-by-step explanation:

What is the area of the shaded portion of the circle? (5π – 11.6) ft2 (5π – 5.8) ft2 (25π – 11.6) ft2 (25π – 5.8) ft2

Area of shaded portion = Area of Arc - Area of Triangle

Area of Arc = (72/360) π 5²  = (1/5) π 5² = 5π  ft²

Area of Triangle = (1/2)(2.9 + 2.9) * 4 = 11.6 ft²

ARea of shaded Region = 5π - 11.6  ft²

As such data shown is not complete correct in Picture

2.9 should have been 3 (if height = 4)than Area would have been 12 ft²

Area using hero formula would also have been than

s = (5 + 5 + 6)/2 = 8  Area = √8(8-5)(8-5)(8-6) = 4 * 3 = 12  ft²

Area using hero formula

s = (5 + 5 + 5.8)/2 = 7.9  Area = √7.9(7.9-5)(7.9-5)(7.9-5.8) = 11.8  ft² ( not 11.6)
