Let AD be the base of triangle ADE
THEN,AD will be 8cm and it's height would be 10 cm
Let O be the mid point of AD
so,OA=OD=4cm
Therefore, Area of triangle OED=area of triangle OEA=1\2*4*10=20cm²
So,area of triangle ADE=(20+20)cm=40cm²

Given:

BC=8cm

CD=10cm

To find:

The area of triangle ADE

Solution:

The required area of ΔADE is 40 cm^{2}.

The height of the ΔADE drawn from E to AD will be equal to the length of the side CD.
So, the area of ΔADE=1/2×base×height

In rectangle ABCD, AD=BC=8cm

Area of ΔADE=1/2×AD×CD

=1/2×8×10

=40 cm^{2}

Therefore, the required area of ΔADE is 40 cm^{2}.
