Hi,,

In general atomoicity is defined only for homonuclear molecules e.g. For S8 the atomicity is 8. But in case atomicity is asked for a heteronuclear molecule then atomic simply means the total number of atoms present in the given molecule e.g the atomicity of ammonium phosphate (NH4)3PO4 is 3(1+4)+ 1 + 4 = 20.

atomicity is the total no of atom presnt in tha molecules
