1. Atomicity of Phosphorus is 4 (P4)

2.Multiply the atomic mass of each element in the formula with their number in the formula. Then add them all.

For example: Methanol: CH3OH.

No of carbon is 1, no of hydrogen is 4 and oxygen 1.

Their atomic mass is 12, 01, and 16 respectively.

So formula mass: 12*1 + 1*4 + 16 = 32
