Matter :- Anything in the universe that occupies the space and has mass is called matter.

Matter has 3 states :-

i) Solid

ii) Liquid

iii) Gas


Here, in the third state of matter i.e gases, the intermolecular force of attraction is negligiable.
Hence, it cannot be broken down.

Examples :- Hydrogen , oxygen, nitrogen gases.
