What is the basic principle behind dialysis? Why should we add heparin in to the blood of patient before sending it into the dialyser?

The basic principle of dialysis is that there is an an organ similar to the kidney which artificially filters the blood.

Explanation:

  • There are large number of nitrogenous substances present in our blood .
  • After renal failure there will be development of disease due to the deposition of nitrogenous substances in our body.
  • The dialysis machine feet does the blood and extract the nitrogenous substances and  rest of the blood to enter the body
  • heparin is added before it is sent to dialysis so that blood does not clot inside dialysis machine.
