Basicity of acid is defined as the no of ionizable hydrogen (H+) ions present in one molecule of an acid is called basicity.

Basicity of an acid refers to the number of replaceable hydrogen ions in an acid. For example hydrochloric acid ( HCI) had a basicity of 1 and sulfuric acid ( H2SO4) had a basicity of 2.
