Manures are classified into three kinds :

( a ) FARMYARD MANURE

It consists of cattle dung, urine, remnants of straw anfd farmyard wastes. All these are mixed and allowed to dry in the sun. Subsequently, it is used as manure.



( b ) COMPOST

Compost is a manure obtained by the decomposition of dead plant and animal wastes. The process of producing compost is called composting.



( c ) GREEN MANURE

Green manure consists of green plants which are ploughed along with soil.
