hi !
as per me both the fields - classical and the new kind are good in their own ways . we cannot compare them at all because they are different from each other and have different qualities and it totally differs from person to person . for eg; i may like a new hip hop , r&b kind of song but some one in my own family hates it . if u want to learn music then i would advice you to first go onto the classical part because it will strengthen the basics of music ang then u can jump off to new music .
