The solar system is considered to be formed by the blasting of the sun billions of years ago. The small pieces were situated at a distance from each other and due to the Sun's gravitational force revolved around it. The process by which the solar system is formed is called the BIG BANG THEORY.

Not only the Solar system but the whole Universe is the Result of Big Bang.

HERE'S YOUR ANSWER
______________________
According to the Big Bang Theory, there was a particle of negligible volume but infinite density.
The particle after its full life, blasted and a Big Bang took place which ked to the release of tremendous amount of energy. This energy was released in tge form of heat which led to the expansion of the particle.
Since the particle had infinite density, it kept expanding, forming a multidimensional space known as the VERSE.
Scientists were unable to justify about other such VERSES and, hence, named the space as UNIVERSE (Uni-one and Verse- space).
Scientists now believe that there are more than one Verses so a new term has been rolled into account called as the MULTIVERSE.
