calorific value is the amount of energy produced by the complete combustion of a material or fuel. Measured in units of energy per amount of material, e.g. kJ/kg

Although hydrogen has the highest calorific value, it is not used as a domesticfuel. It is because hydrogen is a highlycombustible and it reacts explosively when it comes in contact with air. ... So, eventhough hydrogen has the highest calorific value, it is not used as a domestic fuel.
