Muscle cramps occurs when we so vigorous work than that we do regularly

Glucose is converted into lactic acid to produce energy. This lactic acid gets deposited in our muscles ans causes pain. This is what we call as muscle cramp.

cramps can be caused when we do intensive workouts and the amount of oxygen we take in is not enough for the cells to respire properly and break down pyruvate in presence of sufficient oxygen thus it start anaerobic respiration where lactic acid is produced as the product which might accumulate in muscles in our thighs and cause cramps.
