What is the cause of earth to act as a magnet ?

Deekshii1: nice question
Lipimishra2: This is still an active field of research actually.
Lipimishra2: But as much as i have read somewhere, it's because of the electric current in the molten parts of the interior of earth
Lipimishra2: You cam do a bit of research on other sites
Lipimishra2: Can*
AionAbhishek: okay thanks @lipimishra
Lipimishra2: Never a worry.

Actually , scientists suppose that inside rhe earth , it have a core,

the core is nothing but just like a ball,
the core is in the melt position , due to this , it has lot of metals in the form of liquid

the core always revolve around it axis that why liquid metals always in motion,
on high temperature ,it may be possible the metal release it electron and become ions ,

so when charge or ions are motion then it always produced magnetic field

it is the cause of earth magnetic field

heya

if metals like iron and nickel rotate , then they get properties of magnet and act as magnet

earth is mostly made up of nickel and iron

as earth rotates , due to its revolution metals like iron and nickel too rotate

as they are in earth , earth too acts as a magnet
