What is the cause of inertia?

Inertia just exists. There is no cause of inertia. If I ask you why does matter exist? Will you have an answer? No right. Similarly inertia has no cause of existence.
My take on this question would be that inertia exists just because a body is in the state of rest or motion. If a body was not moving it will not have the inertia of motion. Similarly when a body is in rest, it has inertia of rest.
Hope you got my point.

TheGod: whats new
NikhitaDreamer: Then why did u ask if u already know-_-
TheGod: i just want to know the cause
TheGod: i read in newspaper... that scientists are researching on cause of inertia
TheGod: so i asked...if anyone know about it or not
NikhitaDreamer: As I mentioned before. This question is like asking why does matter exist
TheGod: looks like no one knows
TheGod: nope
NikhitaDreamer: Oh that way... something about energy and electric charge is being researched. I don't know that. I told what I know
TheGod: matter exist because, there is dark matter and anti matter
