heya ur answer
________
when metal is forming, electrons in outermost orbit commes out and become free to move any where in metal..this are known as Free Electrons.. which are responsible for flow of current..
and atom become positive ions.
as this free electrons moves from negative terminal of battery to positive terminal...this ions become hurdle in thier way..so they colide with it and loose some of it's energy in form of heat..
this ions are called due to which it provides resistance...
hope this is helpful
