Benedict's reagent is a mixture of the following:
1. Copper sulphate pentahydrate
2. Sodium Carbonate
3. Trisodium citrate dihydrate

But the for writing chemical equations, we only need the copper sulphate pentahydrate (CuSO₄.5H₂O). It is the component which reacts with the glucose.
