→It is found in the exoskeleton of insects, in the cell wall of fungi etc.

→It is a derivative of glucose

→The word "Chitin" came from French word, meaning a covering.

→Chitin is pliable,hard and tough substance.

→It is present in Nematodes,fungi,protozoa etc.

→It is also a good fertilizer and increases crop yield.
