common difference is the difference between two numbers in an arithmetic sequence.which is represent by 'd'.

the first term of the AP is 6x1 + 2 = 8.

The second term of the AP is 6x2+2 = 14.

so, difference =14-8=6

let if put n=1 then we get t1=x+y
n=2 so.. t2=2x+y
so. common difference =t2-t1=x
so... common difference is x
