The complaint of the village people in the poem Roadside Stand is that people travelling in luxury cars don’t buy anything from their stand. Rich people travelling in fancy cars stop to ask for directions, or to turn their cars, or sometimes to ask for fuel, but they don’t think of buying anything from their stand. The poor owner of the stand who is in need for money, his need to earn a little money for the subsistence of his family remains unfulfilled.
