The sugar composition of pollen grain and pollen tube cell walls was studied for Camellia japonica, C. sasanqua, C. sinensis, Tulipa gesneriana and Lilium longiflorum. In all species, the main components of pollen grain walls were arabinose, galactose, glucose and uronic acid.
