Dichotomy is mainly a partition or section of whole or a set into two parts. This couple of part the party must be either jointly exhaustive or mutually exclusive. These partitions are also known as bipartition.


These two parts formed as complement. If the partition is in the opposite direction it's a proposition which holds over one and not the other.


Treating continuous variables as binary variables is called dichotomization.


Continuum theories explain gradual transition without any abrupt change from one condition to other.
