What is the conservation of momentum?

According to the law of conservation of momentum;
if two bodies lets say-body A and body B collide in an isolated system ,the total momentum of the two bodies before collision is equal to the total momentum of the two bodies after collision.....

This was the law that you had to overcome to keep the egg from breaking. Once the container with the egg stops, the contents want to keep moving. All the potential energy was converted into kinetic energy
