The Indian Constitution is one of the most frequently amended Law books  of the world. Article 368 of the constitution empowers parliament to  amend laws such that they do not violate fundamentals of constitution.  This provision of amendment makes Indian constitution almost immune to  ambiguity. There are very few instances of contradictions in the  constitution e.g. Article 19 equips citizen of India with right to  speech and expression, while at the same time section 124A of IPC  empowers government to arrest and detain anyone who tries to defame govt  or govt thinks that he/she may defame Govt of India.

I  only remember this as a contradictory provision. But there are  instances where acts of Constitution have been misinterpreted and have  been misused. The most famous being misuse of Article 356,  purpose of  this article is to give more powers to central government to  preserve the unity and integrity of the nation, it has often been  misused, this article posed a major threat to federal structure until Supreme Court gave its judgement in famous  SR  Bommai vs Union Of India case(1994), where it laid certain grounds on which presidents rule can be imposed. Indian Constitution creates a circular queue of different institutions such that no body is above the other. So even if some contradiction arises it will not cause much harm.

In 2015, the Narendra Modi government decided to celebrate this day as the ‘Constitution Day’. But India’s Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities have been celebrating the day every year much before the official announcement. Across many Indian cities, they have been wearing new clothes, lighting up their homes, organising seminars and rallies, garlanding the statues of B.R. Ambedkar, the chairperson of the Constitution Drafting Committee, over several decades.
