Answer:

Explanation:

diffusion is inversely proportional rto molecular weight

therfore

NH3 = 14+3(1) = 17

N2    =  2(14)    = 28

CO2  = 12 + 2(160 = 44

O2     = 2(16)          = 32

Therefore NH3 has the highest diffusion rate

Hope it helps

Solution : The correct order of the rate of diffusion is H_{2} > NH_{3} > N_{2} > O_{2}

  • Diffusion is the phenomena where there is a movement of one material move from area of high concentration to area of low concentration.
  • Graham's Law of diffusion says that at a given temperature and pressure the rate of diffusion is inversely proportional to the square root of its molar mass.
  • So the gas with the lower molecular mass will diffuse faster as compare to the gas with higher molecular mass
  • Here the molecular mass of H_{2} is 2 , molecular mass of N_{2} is 28 , molecular mass of O_{2} is 32 , molecular mass of NH_{3} is 17.
  • The molecular mass of H_{2}  is lowest so ir will diffuse faster and molecular mass of O_{2} is largest so it will diffuse slower.
