Given: circuit diagram

To Find: current (I) passing through the circuit

Solution:

According to the given circuit,

Consider the circuit ΔABC,

AB - 1 resistor =R₁ = 2ohms

AC and BC have 2 resistors connected in parallel each.

For AC and BC, the equivalent resistance of each are as follows:-

for resistors connected in parallel the equivalent resistance

= 1/R₁ + 1/R₂

=1/2 + 1/2

=2/2 = 1 ohm

Similarly, both AC and BC have an equivalent resistance of 1 ohm.

AB resistance (given) = 2 ohm -according to the circuit, it is parallel to the battery and also to AC and BC resistors which are in series to each other.

Resistance in series = AC and BC

                                 = R₁ + R₂

                                 = 1 + 1

                                 = 2 ohms

Now AC, BC resistance = 2 is parallel to 2ohm AB parallel to battery.

total equivalent resistance(R)  = 1/2 + 1/2

                                                   = 2/2 = 1 ohm

For current, formula used

V = IR ( V = voltage)⇒ ohms law

I = V/R

I = 1.5/1

I = 1.5Amperes / 1.5A
