RADIUS is a straight line extending from the center of a circle or sphere to the circumference or surface:
The radius of a circle is half the diameter.

radius is basically a line segment which is joined from the two points...
In geometry Line segment have many names
For example-> Side , Distance , Length , Breadth, Height, Diagonal , Line and angle Bisector, Diameter, Radius all are line segments
They have different name according to their property.
One point is the Center of the circle and Other is lying on the boundary of the circle..
When you connect these points you will get a line segment...This line segment is Called Radius.
You can draw as many as radius in a circle by joining these points...
So Radius is basically a line segment which joins the two points -> Center and Boundary point..
