Any number that can be exactly divided by 2 is called as an even number. Even numbers always end up with the last digit as 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8. For example – 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 are even numbers as these numbers can easily be divided by 2. It should be noted that the smallest positive even number is 2.

an even number is an integer which is evenly divisible by 2. This means that if the integer is divided by 2, it yields no reminder. Zero is an even number because 0 divided by 2 gives 0.
