Heya friend,

Inertia is the inability of a body to change its state of rest, motion and direction.

Inertia is of three types-:

•Inertia of rest
•Inertia of motion
•Inertia of direction

Let's learn something about these three types of Inertia-:

•Inertia of rest - It's the inability of body to change its state of rest. for example - We fall backwards when a bus at rest suddenly moves, this happens because when bus was at rest, our body too was at rest, and as the bus started moving, our body tries to maintain its state of rest, and thus we fall backwards.

•Inertia of motion- It's inability of a body to change its state of motion. For example- We fall forward when a moving bus suddenly stops, as when bus was moving, our body was in motion too, but as the bus stops our body tries to be in motion and thus fall forward.

•Inertia of direction- It's inability of body to change its direction in which it's moving. For example- When we are on a vehicle and take a sharp turn , we feel a push towards opposite direction in which we take turn, this happens because our body tries to be in the direction in it was moving, and hence we feel like that.

Hope it helps...!!!
