Combination: joining of two different substances to form a more complex substance.
Decomposition: breaking of a compound into two or more products.
Explanation:
Combination: 1 molecule of hydrogen and 1 molecule of chlorine combine to give HCl.
H 2 + Cl 2 → 2HCl
Decomposition: CaCO 3 breaks down into
CaO+CO 2
CaCO 3 → CaO + CO 2

Hello there..!! ☺
Here's the difference between COMBINATION AND DECOMPOSITION REACTION. (in points)
____________________________
COMBINATION REACTION :-

1.)Two or more elements combine to form new compound.
2.)Energy is absorbed in this type  of chemical reaction.
3.)Endothermic process is found in this.
4.)Energy in the form of heat, light etc. is not necessary.
5.)It is an opposite of decomposition reaction.

DECOMPOSITION REACTION:-

1.)One compund is broken down into two or more simpler substances.
2.)Heat is released.
3.)Exothermic process is found.
4.)ENERGY in the form of heat, light etc. is necessary.
5.)It is an opposite of combination reaction.
