what is the difference b/w the terms hydrolysis and hydration

Hydrolysis breaks bonds while Hydration adds an H2O molecule without breaking the bonds. And practically, reduction IS the adding of hydrogen and removal of oxygen. Yes, sorry, don't know what I was thinking. Hydrolysis breaks bonds while Hydration adds an H2O molecule without breaking the bonds.
