ROTATION refers to the movement of an object on its own axis...For eg.... Planets rotate on its on axis while REVOLUTION refers to the movement of an object around an object....For eg.... Planets revolve around The Sun.

REVOLUTION is the movement of an object along an orbit, or path around another body, such as the sun.
