What is the difference between 1 dimensional figures and 2 dimensional figures with reference to x and y axis?

One dimensional figures are only present or can be represented by one plane or one axis ......but two dimensional figures are represented by the combination of two axis which makes one plane to be represented. ..

example ...a line is one dimensional figure ...but a square and rectangle is two dimensional figure...
