a carbocation is basically a carbon possessing posative charge

u know that a covalent bond requires two electron

so one electron is donated by carbon while other is donated by other atom

lets just say carbon is attached to most electronegative atom fluorine

now basically what this fluorine will do when covalent bond breaks is that it will take both the electrons away with it due to high electronegativity leading to form a posative charge on carbon since carbon has now one electron less

while an alkyl group dosen't possess any charge since it has sufficient electrons

so a carbocation has one electron less compared to its corresponding alkyl group

while an alkyl group has sufficient number of electrons

hope u understand well
